The representation is so horrible that the skin colors are very grayish.
Viv:I have alot of representation
The representation in question:
Tumblr media
Lit almost all of the POC characters have grey skin. I mean the clossest ones are prob Sera and Carmila's daughter.
Plus Velvette is just a stereotype of the aggresive black woman, Carmila and Vaggie are angry Latinas and Vaggie is also the stereotype of an aggressive lesbian who hates men.
Ik Vaggie is an executioner and heaven born, but we hear her speak spanish so i included her.
I didn't include Husk or Niffty, since i can't judge Husk much due to him being a cat. Plus Niffty is white as a sheet of paper, but her real stereotype is an Yandere Japanese girl.

Beezelebub
Holy nightmare of all Nightmares, here's Beezlebub, the most scariest Sin of them all, a fun fact about Bee. She's supposedly the mother of hellhounds, and a mother of hellhounds often should encourage her kids to feed her. Sooo.
Tumblr media
Beezlebub had cultivated a hellhound hive dedicated to indulgence and whim. Beezlebub wanted her Hellhounds to feed her, and if they don't they are considered dead to her and are sent to Pounds. What kind of pounds is up to you. Because of Beelzebub's rapid hunger it led to the mere destruction of others, and she feeds on weakness and other people's bad decisions (BeezleJuice)

"I don't really get the whole Striker and Stella are homophobic argument. I also don't get the whole Andrealphus is suffering through comphet argument and here why. The whole Andrealphus is suffering from a comphet doesn't work for me because being lgbtq in hell is considered the norm. Besides, I think it's an excuse so they can excuse him for finding his own sister Stella hot. For some stupid reason. Stella wasn't mad at Stolas because Blitz was a man. It was because he was sleeping with a lower class imp. Blitz being a man is never really brought up at all that episode. As for Striker, why would he be homophobic again? Being lgbtq in hell is considered the norm."

Helluva Boss isn't called a fanfiction because it's queer.
It's because Helluva Boss was pitched as a comedy adult show, where 3 imps (the lowest on hell's ladder) and 1 hellhound run all business together, while the boss Blitz is stuck in a deal with one of hell's princes, all to keep his business/found family afloat.
Instead of sticking to their plot, they forced Blitz and his captor into a romanticized relationship, where neither have chemistry with one another, yet it remains the main focus and drama of the show.
Helluva Boss is just a badly written webtoon, with nothing else but a badly written webtoon to bring to the table. This is why Helluva Boss gets called a fanfiction of its former self.
What is a TV show if the only story it has left to tell is a ship, and a poorly adapted one at that?

Wow what great rep… even though it consists mostly of gays, pans, and bis.
Also why the fuck is Mayberry lesbian? In episode freaking one of the show she was married to a man. It’s literally forcing rep so people wouldn’t complain about there barely being any lesbians in the shows.

Since you claim Blitz is the “victim” in his relationship with Stolas (he isn’t; they’ve both done shitty things to each other), then what is your opinion on what happened in Ozzie’s? You, know, when Blitz USED Stolas to spy on his employees?
Blitz IS the victim in his "relationship" with Stolas (if you can even call it that), but enough people already talked about this, so I'm not gonna waste my breath. What I will say though, is that it was STOLAS who sexually coerced Blitz: he wouldn't have been able to do his job (or provide for his employees and daughter) if he had said no to him. the existence of Asmodean crystals makes no sense based on what was previously established, aka the book was the only access to the human world
If Blitz had used Stolas to spy on M&M after Stolas was nothing but kind towards him and there was no sexual coercion involved, Blitz would have been in the wrong and a real jerk. BUT I can't blame him for using Stolas after all the shit Stolas had put him through. How the hell was Blitz supposed to think to himself: "Yeah, this guy developed actual romantic feelings for me."???

EMILY & SERA — HAZBIN REWRITE
Tumblr media
Please reblog my art to support my stuff - likes don’t do anything! it’s very appreciated! :)
NOTES
Angels, especially seraphim are entirely sexless. When they are still children they tend to look more androgynous. These two just present feminine, but still have no gender. —Emily is around sixteen here, this is when she meets Charlie. —Sera is quite old, being one of God’s oldest and wisest angels (certainly not the oldest out of all of them though). Seraphim tend to have six wings—each with an eye on the front and back, four facial wings (no eyes), and three eyes. They are also usually around 6-12 feet tall in their humanoid forms. A lot of the time, Emily is mistaken for Lucifer by a lot of angels due to the fact that she looks and acts pretty similar to how he did before he fell. Also her association with a (dusty) purple color, doesn’t help.

Stolas is so much of a writer's pet. So much so that Vivziepop is messing with the plot to make Stolas look good at the expense of Blitzo. The main effing character
Yeaaaahhh, literally the only reason why Stolas ISN'T a villian despite originally being written to be one, is because Viv thought they would be cute together, but they changed NOTHING about it, just making him a cute soft gay owl boi. They don't even focus on what the main plot was SUPPOSED to be, and hardly focus on Biltz anymore unless it has something to do with Stolas, which is super lazy and infuriating. It's fine to change your original plans, it's apart of being a writer, but you should at LEAST change certain things so that the change you decide makes SENSE

The misogyny here is unnecessarily loud.
And now, commentary on a Hazbin Tiktok that made it onto my Twitter feed!
Tumblr media
Brushing aside that second part (I mean it's technically true), HH's Lucifer doesn't look like a devil. At all. Seriously, if you showed him to somebody who'd never heard of Hazbin, I doubt they'd be able to guess that he's the Devil.
Tumblr media
I agree with the first part entirely (step on me mommy) but like, how do we know she's evil? She's been onscreen for fifteen seconds tops and hasn't had a single spoken line. Or is it just an educated guess because Viv hates women?
Tumblr media
Would the rest of you guys have a problem if I said this one was accurate? I fully support women's rights and women's wrongs, but you gotta draw the line at genocide.
Tumblr media
No.

"The fat jokes in both these shows (hazbin/helluva) are unfunny garbage. Cold take, I know. And it's egregious when it's targeted ON LITERAL TWIGS (Moxxie and Fizz) and even if those jokes are targeted at badly designed fat characters, these fatphobic jokes seems to push a negative stereotype that fat people are jerks (Adam, Mammon) , or normalizing making fun of fat people."

Here's some good Hazbin/Helluva critical videos I've seen (since it's so hard to find good ones on YT)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Both are by GalXE!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Left one is by HezuReviews, right is by Autistic Swag!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Both are by Madeline Maye!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Both are by Cassidy Whiskey!)
Please go check these people out, all of them are extremely talented. Some of them even shared some insight and clever criticism into this series that I hadn't even thought of! (I especially like the Madeline Mayne ones as they poke into how both HB and HH fail at their queer representation.)

Helluva Boss is Bad (No Duh)
In all my posts talking about Hazbin Hotel and how it fails at being an enjoyable show, I sometimes mention Helluva Boss in an occasional post or something else. I realized I never really went deep into that show or shared some more opinions on it.
Well that is why I'm making this to lay out my full opinion on Helluva Boss. While there ARE some things in it to make it slightly better than Hazbin, it's still pretty bad in it's own special way. So before I get to ranting, I'm gonna go over what I actually liked about Helluva.
~The few good things I liked~
Starting off, the designs for some of the characters are alright. They look to have had a little more thought behind them than anyone in Hazbin, my favorites being Striker and the Baphomet demons of the Sloth Ring.
I also like how we actually get to EXPLORE the world of this universe, like the characters ACTUALLY go to places that isn't just in the Pride Ring. They go to other rings, they go to earth, they go to different locations beyond the city and their homes. That's at least something Helluva has over Hazbin.
And... I think that's about it. So let's get to the things that I DON'T like about this series. Starting with...
~The Story Sucks~
We all know the story and how it unfolds. It started with a group of Imps wanting to fight the system and opened their own assassination business of going to earth and killing whoever their client wants, only for it to take a one-eighty turn and make it about Stolas and his family drama.
I'm sorry, but that is NOT what I originally followed the series for.
I wanted to see more of IMP doing missions, I wanted to see more of how the main characters bounce off each other, not watch a full grown man cry, bitch, and sing cringy songs into getting what he wants.
And not to mention the side plot with Fizz and Ozzie just ultimately led to nothing and wasted episodes when that time could've been spent on expanding the already big cast. Which then leads into...
~The Characters suck~
No one in this show is likable.
Each and every one of them has done something that just got on my last nerve.
Blitz and how he treats his employees, Moxxie and how his character keeps resetting to zero (And we're not going into him in Unhappy Campers), Millie's a nothing character, Loona's a nothing character.
Verosika's a hypocritical bitch who wants to drag others down with her so she's not the only miserable one, Striker lost his edge as the show went on, Fizz's character was butchered, DHORKS and the Cherubs are just... there to serve as antagonists. And the same can be said for the Sins, Andre should've never existed, Stella was reduced to dumb bitchy wife, Octavia is only a plot device in Stolas' arc.
Oh yeah, and Stolas is the worst.
~Stolas~
This character is such a plight on Helluva Boss.
I already made a post talking about him, it's here if you wanna check it out.
But in all seriousness, Vivzie made a grave mistake in not keeping Stolas as the villain. He's exactly what Blitz is fighting against, a noble blood who sees Blitz's kind as beneath him and can toy with whenever he wants. So to have him as this "Poor ultra victim" whose actions never gets properly acknowledged or receives consequences, clearly contradicts whatever the show was going for.
And this ends up weighing the show down in the process and ends up making things worse for it, including changing the plot to focus on him instead.
So yeah all in all, while Helluva Boss is slightly better than Hazbin Hotel, it's still pretty bad in it's own way.

This is plot manipulation if I've ever seen it.
Let me be clear, making Stella abusive is not the issue. The issue is the pandering the narrative does to Stolas here. Stolas is shown to us as a bright-eyed, sensitive kid. Stella, as a child as young as Stolas and in the same position as him, is shown to us as a violent and malicious heathen. It goes out of its way to establish, before they've even met, that Stella is the abuser and Stolas is the poor victim.
Viv says she was inspired by Bojack Horseman. As a HUGE fan of BH, I think her and the other writers really missed the mark. For reference, let's look at Bojack and his abusive mother Beatrice, both as children.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do you see the difference? Do you see the way it's emphasized that they both started out as just children in shitty situations?
And they still maintain that Beatrice was a monster. They humanize her without excusing her behavior. They humanize Bojack without excusing his behavior. No one starts off as a bad person, but the fact that the HB writers try to hammer in that Stella from the start was an irredeemable monster while Stolas is the sole victim throughout his entire life doesn't sit well with me
